An Electrical Installation Condition Report is a report that assesses the condition of an electrical installation. It must be carried out by a qualified electrician and it provides information on the safety and condition of the electrical installation. It is now written in law that all landlords must supply their tenants with an appropriate EICR.

These new Regulations require landlords to have the electrical installations in their properties inspected and tested by a person who is qualified and competent, at an interval of at least every 5 years. Landlords have to provide a copy of the electrical safety report to their tenants, and to their local authority if requested.
